Getting there

Travelling from Ireland to Sweden

OK so we are starting the trip in Sweden it`s a town named Orsa. To get there we have a few Ferry options

Ferry routes

First to England and one of the following options

1 Through Norway....(Newcastle to Kristiansand) DFDS this takes about 18 hours but you can carry on to Gothenburg in Sweden which takes 26 hours prices to both places the same There are two crossings weekly.

Fjord line ....Runs two or three times a week from Newcastle to Stavanger 20 hours//Haugesund 23 hours//Bergen 27 hours tickets cost the same to all ports.

2.. through France and Germany

Or so we thought..

We rang the ferry booking company aferrt.to, just to confirm the bookings 5 days before we were to sail. Just as we well as they informed us that molly could not travel on the long haul to Kristiansand.. This oversight was due to a slightly misleading website.but in fairness to the booking company they reorganised the routes for us, it meant a good deal extra driving Hull instead of Newcastle in England and Varberg in Sweden which is also an extra couple of hundred miles, but at least molly would be on board.

Took this from the Tigin about 10 miles from Varberg It's our first sunrise in Sweden as just got off the ferry. It's about 6.15 am.The roads are a big change from Denmark Quieter narrower with no hard shoulders so harder to find a place to pull in for

As he greets us with his warm glowing smile
He brings a feeling of radiant love
A sense of wonder and awe
A light of promise
Love

here we have a photo of Grenna strand in Denmark before we set sail for Sweden

A few minutes and a coffee later it looked like this As we are parked right on the roadside the breeze from passing trucks is noticable in the rocking Tigin.

We greet the sun, admire and move on.

And so to ORSA
